Carpenter Mountain

Fire Lookout and Trail

One of my long-term projects is to photograph the ecology and ecosystems of Carpenter Mtn. Carpenter Mtn is the far northeastern point of the H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest which is a part of the Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) Network. During the summer I am the fire lookout at the Carpenter Mtn on the Willamette National Forest, Oregon, USA.

I have extensively photographed Carpenter Mountains several ecosystems, trail system and the many ecological experiments being conducted by researchers from the H.J. Andrews. And, as a fire lookout I meet many people who are very curious about the history of the fire lookout, my job there, and the natural history of Carpenter Mtn.

I would like to share what I’v learned about Carpenter Mtn. here on this project page.
